VAULT
Voice and Tone
How VAULT talks. Member communications, marketing, signage, app copy, staff scripts. If it wears the wordmark, it obeys this file.
The Voice, in One Paragraph
VAULT sounds like a great concierge who used to be an athlete. Reverent about the work, precise about the details, warm without being familiar. Confident enough to be short. Kind enough to be specific. Never thirsty, never selling, never posturing.
Four Voice Traits
Every piece of copy should be able to check all four.
1. Reverent
We respect the body, the discipline, and the member’s time. We do not joke about the training. We do not diminish recovery as a nice-to-have. We speak about pole and dance the way a good sports section speaks about a sport.
2. Precise
Specific words over general ones. Real numbers over vague ones. The sauna is 195 degrees, not “hot.” Class is 55 minutes, not “about an hour.” A specific coach’s name over “our team.”
3. Athlete-Serious
We assume the reader is training for a reason. We do not condescend, hype, or motivate. We report. Members bring their own motivation.
4. Hospitality-Warm
The tone of a great hotel, not a great gym. Every message greets the reader like a guest, not a lead.
What VAULT Never Sounds Like
- Never bootcamp. No “let’s go,” no “crush it,” no “sweat sesh.”
- Never wellness-influencer. No “vibes,” no “self-care era,” no “main character.”
- Never spa-brochure. No “unwind,” no “escape,” no “sanctuary.”
- Never sales. No “limited spots,” no “last chance,” no “book now” as a headline.
- Never cutesy. No emojis in body copy. No exclamation marks. No lowercase-as-branding tricks.
- Never posturing. No “world-class,” no “unparalleled,” no “curated” as a shortcut.
Style Rules
Non-negotiable.
- No em dashes. No en dashes. Ever. Use commas, colons, periods. Hyphens only for compound modifiers.
- No exclamation marks anywhere in brand copy.
- Sentences bias short. Vary length for rhythm, but short is the default.
- Numerals for 10 and above, spelled for 9 and below, except in specs (temperatures, times, dimensions).
- Oxford commas.
- Capitalize the room. VAULT is uppercase in the wordmark and in prose.
- Members are always “members,” never “clients” or “guests” (guests are visiting members).
- Coaches are “coaches,” never “instructors” or “trainers” unless in a legal or credentialing context.
- Prosecco is prosecco, lowercase, no italics.
- THE VAULT INVITATIONAL is uppercase, always.
Tone Register by Channel
Voice stays constant. Tone flexes.

| App copy | Functional, warm | Verbs first. Confirm actions clearly. |
| Staff scripts | Human, not scripted | Guidance, not lines to memorize. |
| Press and investor | Confident, sparing | No adjectives doing the work of nouns. |

Founder’s Note, printed in the intro folio
Charlotte deserved a room like this a long time ago. A room built to the standard of a great hotel, programmed to the standard of a real training facility, and staged to the standard of a broadcast venue. VAULT is that room. If you are the kind of member who already pays for three memberships and quietly loves none of them, this was built for you. Welcome.

Recovery menu opening
Recovery at VAULT is not an upsell. Sauna, cold plunge, and contrast therapy are included in every tier. Treatments, when you want them, are booked with the concierge.

The VAULT Café. Open to members and their guests. Coffee by Counter Culture. Small plates from a rotating kitchen. Prosecco, always.
The Test
Before a piece of copy ships, read it aloud. If it sounds like a great hotel’s concierge speaking to a longtime guest, it passes. If it sounds like a gym trying to be a hotel, it fails. Rewrite.
