VAULTBRAND BOOK

VAULT

Brand Book

Anchor document. Every downstream asset (site copy, signage, member letters, staff scripts, investor decks, partnership proposals) resolves back to this file. If it contradicts this book, this book wins.

1. What VAULT Is

VAULT is a 5-star luxury multi-purpose wellness club in Charlotte, North Carolina. Pole and dance studios, strength floors, recovery suites, sauna, cold plunge, café and lounge, retail micro-boutique, private studio rooms.

One line: Where athletes train and artists perform.

VAULT is not a gym. It is not a boutique studio. It is not a spa. It is a members’ club built to the standard of a hotel, programmed to the standard of a training facility, and staged to the standard of a broadcast venue.

Prosecco at the door. Concierge greeting by name. Towels folded like linen service. Music curated, never streamed. Lighting warmed to skin, not to camera.

2. Positioning

Category: Luxury wellness club.

Primary reference frame: Aman Hotels crossed with Equinox, staged like a broadcast venue.

Positioning statement: VAULT is the wellness club where world-class training, artistic performance, and hotel-grade hospitality live under one roof. Members come to work, to be seen well, and to belong to something that treats their body and their time with reverence.

What we are not: - Not a big-box gym. - Not a women-only studio. All genders welcome. Programming, staffing, and design read premium and inclusive. - Not a nightclub with mirrors. The pole and dance programs are athletic, trained, and respected. - Not a spa cosplaying as a gym. - Not a franchise. VAULT Charlotte is the flagship. Any future location is a chapter, not a copy.

3. Brand Promise

Three things every member gets, every visit, without exception:

  1. Recognition. Greeted by name. Locker prepared. Preferences remembered.
  2. A room worth being in. Materials, air, sound, and light held to hotel standard.
  3. Programming that respects the work. Class quality, coach quality, equipment quality. Nothing rented, nothing rushed.

If any of these three break, the visit failed. Staff are trained to notice and to fix in real time.

4. Pillars

Five brand pillars. Every service, space, and communication ladders to one of these.

Pillar 1: Movement

Pole. Dance. Strength. Conditioning. Mobility. Programmed by real coaches, not influencers. Classes have a curriculum. Progress is tracked. Members leave stronger, not just tired.

Pillar 2: Recovery

Sauna, cold plunge, contrast therapy, treatment rooms. Held to spa standard, priced inside membership. Recovery is not an upsell, it is a co-equal reason to come.

Pillar 3: Performance

THE VAULT INVITATIONAL and the in-house stage. Members can compete, showcase, and be filmed at broadcast quality. VAULT is one of the few clubs where the room itself is worth performing in.

Pillar 4: Hospitality

Prosecco at arrival. Concierge desk. Café and lounge that hold their own without the gym attached. Staff trained on hotel hospitality, not retail service.

Pillar 5: Belonging

Members’ club, not a punch card. Curated onboarding. Named lockers. Member events. A room that feels like yours before the class starts.

5. Audience

Not defined by age or gender. Defined by relationship to their body and their time.

Primary member profile: Adults, roughly 28 to 55, Charlotte and inner-ring suburbs, household income $200K and up, who already spend on Equinox or Life Time or a private trainer and have quietly outgrown all of it. They want a room that matches the rest of their life.

Secondary profiles: - Athletes and dancers training seriously, who need the equipment and the stage. - Artists, performers, and touring professionals passing through Charlotte who want a real place to train. - Recovery-first members who prioritize sauna, cold, and treatment over class volume. - Couples and small friend groups who join together and treat it as their third place.

Not the audience: - Discount shoppers. - Members who want to be sold to at the desk. - Anyone looking for a fitness influencer aesthetic.

6. Competitive Frame

We do not benchmark against gyms. We benchmark against the top of hospitality and the top of training, then hold the standard of both.

Hospitality benchmarks: Aman Tokyo, The Peninsula Chicago, 1 Hotel, Faena.

Training benchmarks: Equinox flagships, Life Time Athletic, The Class by Taryn Toomey, Body by Simone at peak.

Performance venue benchmarks: Broadcast-grade dance rooms, small theater black boxes, editorial photo studios.

VAULT is what happens when a member of all three worlds decides those three worlds should have been one room.

7. Brand Architecture (Summary)

Full detail lives in 04_NAMING_ARCHITECTURE.md. Summary here.

Parent brand: VAULT.

Sub-brands under VAULT: - THE VAULT INVITATIONAL, the competition IP produced by The Walker Group. - VAULT membership tiers (named, not numbered). - VAULT apparel line. - VAULT Digital, remote and travel membership. - VAULT Café and VAULT Lounge, the hospitality footprint. - The retail micro-boutique inside the club. - Private studio rooms, named individually.

All sub-brands carry the VAULT wordmark. None break away from it.

8. Founder and Creative Direction

Founder, face, and creative director: Taj (Tajanay Hines). Widow. Mother. Athlete. Entrepreneur. Pivoting from SoftPlay Era into her wealth vehicle.

Taj is the face of VAULT. She sets the taste, the standard, and the tone. She is not the operator. A General Manager runs day-to-day. Full founder story lives in 01_BRAND_STORY.md.

Trill Walker serves as Chief Strategy Officer. The Walker Group produces THE VAULT INVITATIONAL.

9. Rules of the Brand

Short list. Non-negotiable.

  1. Prosecco at the door, always. It is the signature. Do not swap for water or tea.
  2. Greet every member by name within thirty seconds of entry.
  3. No influencer partnerships that read thirsty. Members are the story.
  4. No green in any brand asset, ever.
  5. No em dashes or en dashes in any copy. Commas, colons, periods, hyphens for compounds only.
  6. Music curated, never streamed. In-house playlist team.
  7. No promotional signage on the training floor. Marketing lives in the lounge, at most.
  8. Photography of members is opt-in and never used without written permission.
  9. Staff dress code is uniform, tailored, and quiet. No logos larger than a coin.
  10. Every space is a room worth being in, or it is closed until it is.

10. Success, Defined

VAULT succeeds when a member cancels the other three memberships within ninety days of joining, tells one specific friend, and stops mentioning price.

That is the metric.
